Uintah County Vernal Central Library

Uintah County Vernal Central Library

This post is written by my Mother in Law. We were lucky enough to have both grandmas come along with us to Vernal. So this article is written by Walker Grandma (as the kids call her.)

On our visit to Vernal, after we had exhausted all of the museums and places for little ones to hang out.  We decide to check out the Vernal Public Library and were richly rewarded with things for kids to do.

We walked inside the front door and our little man Orion immediately went to the book display and pulled a book off the shelf and started to read.  We looked at books for a few minutes and then started to explore. We arrived at the tail end of story time and learned to make a ‘snake’ hand- puppet.

We were given all of the things we needed to make one, crayons, scissors, etc…  Then it was time for Legos.  What kids doesn’t love Legos?  The kids were amazed at the long wall table of Legos and started to build to their hearts content.

Electronics are always a favorite and when Aiko saw the Ipads we had to have one. Aiko and her brother were provided with an Ipad and a head-set so that we could play without disturbing others.

We spent a good half-hour playing games. There were 12-15 children at the library that day and everyone was having a good time.

Some were hiding in cubby holes with a book or playing with puppets at the puppet stage.  It was a very entertaining choice for our little ones that day and we were ready for a picnic afterwards.

Thanks Walker Grandma!
